This position will be performed remotely, allowing for flexibility and autonomy in achieving work objectives. As part of the Gotham team, you will engage in regular virtual meetings, participate in collaborative planning with multidisciplinary teams, and utilize various digital tools to communicate effectively with students, parents, and educators. You will also have access to an extensive repository of resources that will help you address the diverse needs of your clients.

• Conduct thorough assessments to identify students' social, emotional, and academic needs.
• Develop and implement individualized intervention plans, working closely with teachers, parents, and mental health professionals.
• Provide counseling services through virtual platforms, adapting techniques to best suit the unique contexts of each student.
• Facilitate workshops and seminars on mental health awareness, creating a culture of support within the school community.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case notes, monitoring client progress and modifying action plans as necessary.
• Coordinate with external agencies to secure additional resources or referrals when needed.
• Engage in continuous professional development, staying current on best practices and emerging trends in social work and mental health.

In this role, you will primarily work with a diverse population of school-aged children and adolescents facing various challenges, including anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and family-related concerns. You will be responsible for fostering resilience and coping skills, as well as acting as a liaison between the student, their family, and the school environment.

• A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as a Social Worker (LSW or equivalent) in the state of Virginia.
• Strong understanding of best practices in mental health counseling and crisis intervention.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to build rapport with clients and families.
• Proficiency in virtual communication tools and digital collaboration platforms.

• Previous experience working in a school or educational setting.
• Experience with trauma-informed care practices and methods for addressing adverse childhood experiences (ACEs).
• Familiarity with school systems and an understanding of educational policies and resources.
