Job description

Job Description Summary:

This position provides inpatient nursing care to patients and families along the health-illness continuum while collaborating with the rounding physician and associated health care team. The RN is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the state statutes. The RN delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and unlicensed assistive personnel (UAPs) using the criteria written in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities And Duties:

  1. Obtains and maintains an accurate patient census works with referring providers to determine patients to be seen. Also collaborates with physicians and nurse practitioners to ensure patient care is delivered in a timely fashion.

  1. Supports and assists rounding process under the supervision of the rounding physician.

  1. Obtains and reviews medical records, labs and other pertinent patient data for rounding providers on the service to aide in assessment, diagnosis and plan of care. Retrieves outside records if requested by the rounding physician.

  1. Assists with discharge process and scheduling testing and follow up as needed

  1. May function as a scribe per the hospital medical staff by-laws as directed by the physician.

  1. Serves as triage RN with incoming patient and referring provider calls. Directs patients as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's Degree (Required)BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, RN - Registered Nurse - Ohio Board of Nursing

Additional Job Description:

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Must hold a current registered nurse license from the State of Ohio. BLS Certification Assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care. Recent RN Experience in area of specialty.
