Job Title:Post Doctoral ScholarDepartment:Engineering | Materials Science and Engineering

A funded postdoctoral position is available to study atomic-scale structure and defects in materials and interfaces relevant to superconducting and semiconducting qubits using advanced electron microscopy techniques at the Center for Electron Microscopy and Analysis (CEMAS).

Responsibilities

Conduct TEM, 4D-STEM, electron ptychography, EELS, and SEM/EBSD to analyze structure, strain, and chemistry in superconducting and semiconducting thin films and heterostructures.

Correlate structural and chemical features with superconducting and electronic properties.

Develop and apply advanced data analysis workflows for large microscopy datasets.

Required Education:

Ph.D. in Materials Science, Physics, Applied Physics or equivalent

Desired Education:

Ph.D. in Materials Science, Physics or Applied Physics

Required Experience:

Strong background in TEM/STEM characterization.

Desired Experience:

Experience with EELS, diffraction contrast, 4D-STEM/ptychography.

Familiarity with data analysis tools and strong collaborative communication skills.

Appointment

Access to state-of-the-art electron microscopy facilities and interdisciplinary collaborations.
