Job description

We are seeking a Cyber System Administrator to join our team. You will administer, secure, and maintain IT and OT/ICS systems, ensuring compliance with federal cybersecurity standards and supporting system accreditation activities. You will implement secure configurations, manage system lifecycles, and keep technical documentation current in coordination with engineering, cybersecurity, and customer stakeholders. This position is located in Columbus, OH.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • System Administration & Lifecycle Maintenance: Installing, configuring, hardening, patching, backing up, and upgrading physical/virtual servers, appliances, workstations, and OT/ICS components; performing recurring maintenance such as antivirus updates and backup management.
  • Cybersecurity Compliance & Security Controls Implementation: Applying and enforcing DISA STIGs and NIST 80053/80082 requirements across IT and OT environments; documenting exceptions in coordination with cybersecurity teams.
  • RMF Support & Accreditation Artifacts: Providing technical evidence and configuration details to support RMF assessments, cybersecurity risk reviews, and Authority to Connect (ATC) decisions.
  • Privileged Access Management & DoDM 8140.03 Requirements: Conducting privileged system administration aligned with DoDM 8140.03; maintaining required accounts, completing mandated training, and supporting workforce reporting.
  • OT/ICS/Facilities Systems Support: Installing, configuring, patching, backing up, and testing operational technology (OT), industrial control systems (ICS), facility IoT solutions, and associated application software in coordination with engineers and asset owners.
  • Secure Network Configuration & Communications Controls: Implementing secure network architectures including VLANs, IEEE 802.1X, port security, and controlled ports/protocols/services; ensuring wireless and cellular connectivity meets FIPS 1403 and STIG standards.
  • Architecture Documentation & Configuration Management: Developing and maintaining "asbuilt" technical architecture, configuration documentation, and alignment with Purdue Enterprise Reference Architecture (PERA).
Required Qualifications:
  • One or more DoDM 8140.03 baseline IAT/SA-level certifications, such as: CompTIA Security+ CE, CompTIA CySA+ or CASP+ (or equivalent advanced security certification), GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC) or similar
  • At least one OS- or platform-specific Computing Environment (CE) certification such as: Microsoft (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate), Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or higher, VMware (e.g., VCP), Relevant vendor/database certifications (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server)
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, cybersecurity, engineering, or related field
  • A minimum of three (3) years of hands-on system administration experience (Windows and/or Linux) in enterprise or DoD environments, including virtualization (e.g., VMware) and complex networks.
  • Experience implementing or supporting DISA STIGs, vulnerability remediation, and secure baselines.
  • Understanding of RMF, NIST SP 80053, and basic network security concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, 802.1x/port security).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in DoD or customer environments, including customer Remote VDI and Service Portal workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with OT/ICS/FRCS/Facilities IoT systems and architectures using PERA.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust (ZT) and ICAM concepts in federal/DoD environments.

  • Must possess a current DoD Secret clearance
