Job Summary
The Plant Engineering and Maintenance Leader is accountable for the development and implementation of manufacturing engineering processes and solutions to maintain and improve the manufacturing efficiency and profitability of the company. Driving and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement. This position provides direction for the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Leads, Maintenance Supervisors, Maintenance Planners, and Maintenance Technicians.
Key Accountabilities/Outcomes
  • Develop the Planned Maintenance Capability within Technical, Operations and Engineering community to leverage the company assets. This role is the leader of the PM Pillar implementation at all levels and responsible to drive the expected behaviors and results in all applicable functions in the pursuit of zero losses.
  • Develop policies and setting expectations to ensure that EHS objectives, activities and plans are achieved. Lead and participate in the development of an interdependent culture and an incident free workplace.
  • Owns all associated PM Pillar systems and tools effectiveness, i.e., (ABC Classification, CMMS, Planning amp; Scheduling Standard routine, Basic Conditions matrix, Breakdown Analysis, PM standards, RCM, CBM Strategy, Predictive, etc.) including their integration into Daily Routines as well as other systems, tools, processes as they relate to the pillar and Operations Excellence/TPM implementation.
  • Drive productivity and efficiency gains through the reduction of Machine and M amp;R losses to contribute to yearly cost optimization, productivity and critical OEE goals.
  • Track/understand the PM Pillar impact on savings and its achievements (e.g., PM success stories) to identify potential adjustments / improvements to be implemented.
  • Directs maintenance, engineering, MRO, purchasing, and reliability efforts and strategy in a multi-site environment through direct reports.
  • Responsible to ensure that preventative and responsive maintenance resources and programs are in place to support a 24x6/7 days manufacturing operation.
  • Key measurable items include planned maintenance compliance, PA (physical availability), OA (operational availability), EHS metrics, and support of plant financial and delivery of metrics.
  • Provides strategic direction for the installation and modification of equipment.
  • Collaborates with production staff and upper management to resolve maintenance, reliability, and engineering matters.
  • Interfaces with all Departmental Managers and Supervisors to ensure that plant equipment is maintained and kept in functional and safe order.
  • Drive OEE Performance uplift at critical business platforms and lines by eliminating Unplanned stops and optimizing planned stops at our assets.
  • Deliver appropriate training and coaching to transfer PM knowledge to PM Plant Pillars; perform regular coaching visits to PM Pillars in the Plants to ensure the correct application of methods and knowledge sharing.
  • Works closely with cross-functional teams and OEMs to develop efficient and effective methods to support accurate and timely value-driven business solutions for both short-term and longer-term strategies.
  • Ensuring all new equipment and facility designs meet the highest standards of food safety and conform to EHS values.
  • Manage and develop capital budget, cost savings initiatives, and execute capital projects to meet the stated objectives.
  • Researching, recommending, and deploying innovative, economical leading-edge equipment, systems, and advanced process control technologies.
  • Develop a capability building strategy and its training solutions to advance critical competences across the workforce and to infuse a continuous improvement culture across all levels of the organization.
  • Manage plant-wide energy costs and associated reductions with the goal of optimizing the consumption of all utilities through monitoring and implementation of world-class practices and technology.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required. A master’s degree is a plus
  • Successful experience in implementing Total Performance Management (TPM) and CI across multiple plants for a pillar or entire OPEX/ TPM program.
  • Manufacturing leadership experience in positions of increasing responsibility demonstrating excellence in results delivery and standardization of processes.
  • Strong experience with Maintenance background and TPM demonstrated mastery.
  • You will have TPM experience, knowledge and practical application of PM, AM, FI, Education amp; Training systems, and tools as well as Daily Management System.
  • You will have a minimum of 10 years working experience working in manufacturing or other related industry in operations or continuous improvement roles.
  • Experience in leading project teams and departments successfully, preferably in the consumer-packaged good industry
  • Strong analytical mindset and project management experience
  • Proven track record of implementing improvement projects that leads to measurable financial savings in a sustainable way.
  • Strong understanding of Change Management.
