Flagstar Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN PreOp / PACU - Post Anesthesia Care for a travel nursing job in Columbus, Ohio.

Registered Nurse – PACU
FSN is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team. In this role, you will provide specialized nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical and procedural interventions. The ideal candidate demonstrates advanced clinical judgment, strong assessment skills, and the ability to manage complex patient needs in a fast-paced recovery environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide immediate post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from general, regional, and monitored anesthesia
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including airway, neurological status, and hemodynamic stability
  • Monitor vital signs, oxygenation, and cardiac rhythms; recognize and respond to complications
  • Administer medications for pain control, nausea, and sedation management
  • Manage airways, including oxygen therapy and ventilatory support when needed
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary care teams
  • Educate patients and families regarding post-operative care and discharge instructions
  • Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Ensure adherence to patient safety standards, infection control protocols, and recovery guidelines

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Valid and current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of PACU, critical care (ICU), or emergency department experience required
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to manage high-acuity patients in a dynamic environment

Shift & Schedule:

  • Day shift: 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
