Job description

Location: Westerville, OH (On site)
Duration: 3-Month Contract (Potential for Extension)
Pay Rate: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

PTS Advance is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to support payroll operations for a busy and growing organization. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining payroll records, resolving employee payroll inquiries, and supporting payroll compliance efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong payroll experience, exceptional attention to detail, and experience working with large payroll systems.

Responsibilities
  • Process employee timesheets and payroll-related information accurately and on schedule.
  • Review and verify payroll data to ensure accuracy prior to processing.
  • Calculate and administer payroll deductions, including garnishments and other required withholdings.
  • Assist with payroll processing activities and provide backup support within the payroll department.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of payroll systems, timekeeping platforms, and payroll workflows.
  • Research and resolve employee payroll questions and discrepancies.
  • Review payroll reports and records to ensure compliance, accuracy, and proper documentation.
  • Assist with communicating payroll policies and procedures to employees.
  • Support year-end payroll activities, record retention, and payroll documentation filing.
  • Compile payroll information for financial reporting and accounting purposes.
  • Partner with Human Resources and Accounting teams to ensure accurate employee pay processing and alignment with financial records.
  • Perform additional payroll and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of payroll experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience using Oracle HCM, Kronos Timekeeping, or comparable payroll and workforce management systems.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, deductions, garnishments, and payroll compliance requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and employee support skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of payroll and employee information.
  • Experience working with integrated payroll and timekeeping systems preferred.
  • Payroll certification is a plus.
Education
  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant payroll experience will be considered.
  • Three years of directly related experience may be substituted for formal education requirements.
