Job description

The Office of Finance is looking for a dedicated Accountant (Bond Accountant 2) who will:
  • Prepare schedules to support financial statement numbers for assigned bond series
  • Prepare financial statements for assigned bond series
  • Pay disbursements related to bond issues, Single-Family expenses & preparing trustee & banking partner letters for investment purchases
  • Maintain database for trustee extract files & transactions, interest rates on variable rate bonds & swaps, bond paydowns & investment purchases
  • Prepare reports used by the group, such as the month end reports from US Bank, investment & bond balance totals, remarketing & liquidity contract information

Qualifications
The Office of Finance is seeking a Bond Accountant 2 with the following minimum qualifications:
  • 36 months training or 36 months experience in accounting.
  • OR completion of undergraduate core program in accounting, finance, economics, business administration or public administration; AND 12 months training or 12 months experience in accounting.
  • OR equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
    Necessary Job Skills: Accounting and Finance, Regulatory Compliance, Interpreting Financial Statements, Attention to Detail, Teamwork, Time Management, Analyzation.

Applicable Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of & experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) accounting
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Skills in critical thinking, detail oriented & organization
  • Ability to multi-task & work independently as part of a diverse team of financial professionals
