Connectivity Engineer

Build Your Legacy:

At Legacy Professional Services, we believe successful projects start with exceptional people.

Across the country, owners, contractors, utilities, and public agencies trust us to deliver complex infrastructure, construction, energy, and mission-critical projects. Whether supporting a major capital improvement program, a hyperscale data center, an energy initiative, or critical community infrastructure, our work helps create the systems and facilities people rely on every day. We are an integral part of the teams that deliver projects.

Our professionals bring expertise in construction management, program management, project controls, quality assurance and quality control, commissioning support, asset management, workforce solutions, and energy programs. Together, we help clients solve challenges, improve performance, and achieve successful outcomes.

As our company continues to grow, we're looking for talented professionals who are ready to make an impact, build meaningful careers, and help shape the future of Legacy.

The Opportunity:

Legacy Professional Services is seeking a Connectivity Engineer to support the successful installation, integration, testing, and turnover of structured cabling, fiber optic, and low-voltage systems for hyperscale data center construction projects.

In this role, you'll work closely with project managers, commissioning teams, QA/QC professionals, IT stakeholders, and specialty contractors to ensure connectivity infrastructure is installed in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and hyperscale owner requirements. Your expertise will help deliver reliable, scalable, and commissioning-ready network infrastructure that supports mission-critical operations.

This position is ideal for a technically driven professional who enjoys solving complex challenges, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and delivering high-quality connectivity solutions in fast-paced construction environments.

What You'll Do:

  • Support the installation, integration, and deployment of structured cabling, fiber optic, and low-voltage systems for hyperscale data center projects.
  • Coordinate rack-and-stack activities and the deployment of white space infrastructure.
  • Review construction drawings, network diagrams, specifications, submittals, and project documentation to ensure installation compliance.
  • Verify installations meet project specifications, manufacturer requirements, TIA/EIA standards, BICSI best practices, and hyperscale owner requirements.
  • Coordinate and document fiber optic testing, copper certification, OTDR testing, and other system validation activities.
  • Collaborate with commissioning teams to support integrated systems testing, operational readiness, and client acceptance.
  • Coordinate with connectivity contractors, IT teams, and other construction disciplines to resolve field issues and maintain project schedules.
  • Track connectivity materials, network hardware deliveries, testing documentation, and project progress.
  • Maintain as-built drawings, test reports, deficiency logs, turnover packages, and other project documentation using Procore, BIM 360, Bluebeam, and related construction management platforms.
  • Support final inspections, phased turnover activities, and owner handover to ensure successful project completion.

Requirements

What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Telecommunications, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Three or more years of experience supporting connectivity, low-voltage, telecommunications, or network infrastructure projects in commercial construction.
  • Strong understanding of structured cabling systems, fiber optic infrastructure, and industry standards, including TIA/EIA and BICSI.
  • Experience coordinating testing activities, including fiber optic, copper certification, and OTDR testing.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, network diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software such as Procore, BIM 360, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or MS Project.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting hyperscale data center, mission-critical, industrial, or other large-scale commercial construction projects.
  • Familiarity with rack integration, white space infrastructure deployment, and data center commissioning processes.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams and specialty contractors.
  • Knowledge of hyperscale owner standards and turnover requirements.

Preferred Certifications:

  • BICSI Installer or RCDD certification.
  • Fiber Optic Association (FOA) certification.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Manufacturer certifications such as Corning, CommScope, Panduit, or similar.
