  • Perform fiber optic testing using OLTS, OTDR, Optical Power Meters (OPM), Visual Fault Locators (VFL), and digital fiber inspection scopes.
  • Interpret OTDR results in identifying connector and splice loss, reflection events, fiber breaks, excessive attenuation, and installation defects.
  • Perform Permanent Link testing using One Jumper Reference methodology and validate fiber cleanliness in accordance with applicable ANSI/TIA and IEC standards.
  • Perform loopback validation, signal path verification, fiber cleaning, and approved remediation activities.
  • Perform basic BERT and circuit audit interpretation, including Bit Error Rate (BER), Forward Error Correction (FEC), port flaps, and Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR).
  • Complete authorized remediation including connector replacement, re-terminations, patch corrections, labeling corrections, cable routing corrections, and hardware reseats.
  • Maintain accurate testing files, reports, ticketing information, asset records, and project documentation.
  • Identify recurring or systemic network failures and escalate issues to project leadership or a Hyperscale Network Specialist III when appropriate.
  • Provide technical guidance and field support to Hyperscale Network Specialist I personnel.
