Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Oncology PCU

Unit Information

This position is on a Medical Oncology unit featuring progressive care beds and pediatric patients. The unit has a high acuity level in the PCU, along with a small number of medical-surgical patients.

Schedule

Successful candidates will accept a rotating contract that includes day, night, or a combination of both shifts based on departmental needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every four weeks; however, changes are not guaranteed and depend on staffing priorities.

Special Procedures/Unit Details

The unit comprises 36 telemetry beds, with more than 24 dedicated to PCU level of care. Pediatric patients are infrequently admitted and would typically be under the care of permanent staff. While pediatric experience is not a requirement for agency RNs, a strong background in high-acuity PCU care is essential.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience, including at least 1 year of PCU experience
  • Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale
  • Required floating within units of equivalent or lower acuity levels
  • Previous travel experience is preferred
