Job description

Teacher Responsibilities

  • Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities.
  • Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times.
  • Help prepare and serve snacks and meals.
  • Assist children with toileting, handwashing, and other hygiene routines.
  • Support learning activities, including reading, art, music, and outdoor play.
  • Set up and clean up classroom materials and learning centers.
  • Observe and report children's progress or concerns to the lead teacher.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
  • Help with nap time, transitions, and daily schedules.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
  • Follow all licensing, health, and safety regulations.
  • Attend required staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Maintain confidentiality of children and family information.
  • Assist with documenting daily activities and child observations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director or Lead Teacher.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED (required).
  • Experience working with young children is preferred.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to pass required background checks.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively engage with children throughout the day.
