Elford is seeking an experienced Traveling Project Manager to lead multifamily construction projects throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. This role is responsible for managing projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the quality our clients expect.

This position is ideal for a construction professional who enjoys working on complex multifamily developments and is comfortable traveling to support projects across the region. You'll work closely with Superintendents, Project Engineers, owners, architects, and trade partners to drive successful project execution while building strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all phases of multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and overall financial performance.
  • Travel to project sites throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Michigan to oversee project execution and support field operations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and trade partners.
  • Lead project planning, procurement, subcontract administration, and contract management.
  • Partner with Superintendents to ensure safe, efficient, and successful field operations.
  • Manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project reporting.
  • Identify project risks and implement solutions to maintain schedule, budget, and quality goals.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety standards, project specifications, and contractual requirements.
  • Mentor Project Engineers and contribute to the development of future project leaders.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • 6+ years of project management experience with a commercial general contractor.
  • Experience managing multifamily construction projects from start to finish.
  • Willingness to travel and support projects throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Michigan.
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and contract administration.
  • Experience with Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar construction management software.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and delivering exceptional results.
