Job Description Project Manager - Facilities, Construction & Capital Improvements Contract: 6 months to start Location: Hybrid, with onsite presence as needed Requirement: Must be local to the Greater Columbus area We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support facility, renovation, infrastructure, and capital improvement initiatives for a large, complex organization in Central Ohio. This role will be responsible for leading projects from early planning through execution, turnover, and closeout while managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, stakeholder communication, and risk. The ideal candidate will have experience coordinating cross-functional project teams, external partners, vendors, contractors, and internal business leaders in environments where work must be completed safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to daily operations.

Key Responsibilities Lead facility improvement, renovation, infrastructure, and construction-related projects from planning through completion. Develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, milestones, deliverables, and resource needs. Partner with internal stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, requirements, and success criteria.

Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle. Review project documentation, drawings, estimates, proposals, schedules, and related materials to ensure alignment with business needs. Monitor project progress, identify risks or delays, and implement corrective action when needed.

Manage project budgets, forecasts, cost tracking, change orders, contract adjustments, and contingency usage. Support procurement, bid review, vendor coordination, and contractor selection activities. Lead project meetings, status updates, design reviews, construction coordination meetings, and leadership briefings.

Communicate project status, risks, decisions, budget updates, and key milestones to stakeholders and leadership. Oversee site activity, logistics, inspections, commissioning, turnover planning, and project closeout. Ensure projects are completed in alignment with applicable codes, safety standards, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements.

Coordinate transition planning, move activities, equipment installation, space readiness, and post-project support. Maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules, budgets, contracts, meeting notes, permits, reports, action items, and project records. Support project governance, reporting, portfolio updates, and executive-level presentations as needed.

Preferred Background Experience managing construction, renovation, facilities, infrastructure, or capital improvement projects. Background working in large, complex, highly regulated, or operationally sensitive environments. Experience managing projects with multiple stakeholders, external vendors, contractors, and internal business partners.

Strong understanding of project budgeting, scheduling, change management, risk management, and project reporting. Ability to balance competing priorities while keeping projects moving forward. PMP certification or formal project management training is a plus.
