Job description

TITLE: COORDINATOR OF TECHNOLOGY SERVICES

LEVEL: COORDINATOR I

FLSA STATUS: EXEMPT

REPORTS TO: CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER OR DESIGNEE

DEPARTMENT: OPERATIONS

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for managing the IT operational team that supports the technologies used in Dublin City Schools and develops and establishes IT standards, protocols, and procedures. The position also has responsibilities for the analysis, design, deployment and operations of IT software and hardware systems. Work closely with operational and academic leadership to ensure alignment with district objectives. 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Technology related field or equivalent work experience; business experience a plus
  • 5 + years leading design and support of enterprise-level IT infrastructures including: Expertise in operational stability, ensuring up-time; Experience as the escalation point for production issues; Leadership experience in disaster recovery, business continuity, data security and privacy management, as well as, data center management and moves
  • Experience managing help desk and application support functions
  • Experience in K-12 and/or not for profit sector desirable
  • Experience in a software as a service product company desirable
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Understanding of and leadership of teams managing various infrastructures and network connectivity between multiple buildings and locations.
  • Alternative to the above qualifications as the Superintendent or Board of Education may find appropriate

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing

  • Knowledge of personal computers, spreadsheet applications and databases

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in the support of personnel data and the keeping of personnel records
  • Ability to understand and interpret basic policies and procedures
  • Ability to establish effective positive relationships with district employees, parents, and students.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Develops and maintains network infrastructure and oversee all facets of IT customer service to drive technology services, security and data privacy.
  • Leads and manages IT customer service operations, systems administration, network operations, and physical infrastructure.
  • Ensures district-wide network systems are implemented, monitored and supported to ensure maximum availability and reliability.
  • Collaborates in creating, managing and continuous improvement of the service delivery processes including change management, configuration management, communication, outage notification, incident reporting, metrics and root cause analysis.
  • Manages the technology and IT deployment processes to ensure builds are deployed into production in a secure, consistent and reliable manner.
  • Hires, trains, mentors and appropriately manages staff towards excellence as continually- improving technical professionals, communicators and collaborators.
  • Identifies and evaluates new technologies and techniques to best serve our district students and staff.
  • Implements a culture of amazing customer service and unwavering dedication to high availability and uptime.
  • Oversees all infrastructure elements including, but not limited to, desktop and mobile computing, servers (virtual and physical) storage management, database management, recovery management and threat management.
  • Responsible for developing, maintaining and enforcing security to safeguard data assets and ensure data privacy.
  • Develops information security and risk policies, training and education. Provides managerial and technical guidance on the development of information security policies, guidelines, standards, procedures and responsibility designations.
  • Oversees security incident response planning and lead in the investigation of possible security breaches.
  • Responsible for managing departmental budgets and delivering projects against those budgets.
  • Responsible for vendor management for the delivery of IT infrastructure related services.
  • Ensures the safety of students.
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative professional relationships.
  • Exhibits professional behavior, emotional stability and sound judgment.
  • Maintains confidentiality and respect for confidential information at all times.

ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Operation of a vehicle under inclement weather conditions (i.e., being prepared to report to work on all scheduled days, including calamity days)
  • Interaction among staff and students
  • Travel to all district facilities
  • Occasional evening/weekend work; e.g., committee meetings, board meetings, extra-curricular activities, etc.
  • Frequent repetitive hand motion, e.g., computer keyboard, typing, calculator, writing

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Per the Dublin City Schools Administrative Compensation and Fringe Benefits Package.

Salary: Full-time, Pay Level 10, 246 days
