Job Descriptionseeking a highly experienced Senior Cloud Engineer Consultant (ITC1) to serve as a senior-level technical resource responsible for the architecture, implementation, administration, and optimization of enterprise multi-cloud environments.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP, along with experience supporting cloud security, hybrid networking, DevOps, and infrastructure modernization initiatives within large enterprise environments.
This position is primarily remote; however, candidates must be available to report onsite as needed and must attend the first day onsite at:
30 E Broad Street, 13th Floor, Columbus, OH Key Responsibilities Cloud Engineering & Administration - Architect, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Administer cloud services including compute, storage, networking, IAM, firewalls, certificates, encryption, serverless functions, and managed databases.
- Monitor cloud utilization, performance, and cost optimization initiatives (FinOps).
- Manage CI/CD pipelines, DevOps toolchains, Docker/Kubernetes environments, and API integrations.
- Implement disaster recovery and business continuity solutions aligned with agency standards.
- Perform cloud cybersecurity and vulnerability management activities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with Application Development teams on cloud-native architecture and application migrations.
- Collaborate with Cybersecurity teams to implement Zero Trust, NIST SP 800-53, and FedRAMP-aligned controls.
- Work with Networking teams on VPN, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect, and SD-WAN integrations.
- Support managed cloud database deployments including Azure SQL, Amazon S3, Snowflake, and related services.
- Develop operational runbooks, escalation procedures, and technical documentation.
- Mentor junior IT staff and provide cloud strategy guidance to leadership teams.
Governance & Compliance - Support cloud governance standards, architecture reviews, and compliance initiatives.
- Participate in vendor evaluations, procurement reviews, and SOW assessments.
- Work within Agile/Scrum teams to support sprint-based cloud infrastructure planning.
- Maintain cloud architecture documentation and CMDB inventories.
Required Skills & Experience Skill Experience Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, and/or GCP 5+ Years Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, load balancers, and hybrid networking 5+ Years Experience with cloud security controls, IAM, Azure AD/Entra ID, AWS IAM, and encryption standards 5+ Years Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and DevOps/CI-CD pipelines Required Experience implementing DR/BC solutions in cloud environments Required Experience with cloud governance, compliance, and security frameworks Required
Preferred Qualifications - Experience working within State Government or large enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, FedRAMP, and Zero Trust frameworks.
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud infrastructure environments.
- Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills.

- Position is 95% remote with occasional onsite requirements.
