Job description

Overview

Kable Workforce Solutions is seeking a Batch Reactor Process Operator for our client. You will run and care for chemical reactor systems that convert raw inputs into finished industrial products while upholding strict safety, environmental, and quality standards.

A Day in Your Shift

You arrive, gear up in required PPE, review the batch sheet, and walk the line. Pre-start checks complete, you bring the system online and begin charging the reactor according to the recipe. Through the shift you fine-tune temperature, pressure, vacuum, and flow, watching the process closely and reacting quickly to any deviation. Samples go to the lab, records go into the log, and the equipment gets cleaned and prepped for the next run—always with safety first.

  • Operate batch reactors, blending tanks, and related process equipment
  • Charge solids, liquids, and gases per batch instructions
  • Control temperature, pressure, vacuum, and flow via valves and control systems
  • Observe reactions; respond to alarms and abnormal conditions
  • Collect in-process and finished product samples for laboratory testing
  • Accurately record readings, batch data, and production logs
  • Perform routine cleaning, setups, and basic maintenance on reactors and auxiliaries
  • Inspect equipment and report mechanical or safety concerns
  • Follow written and verbal procedures and safety instructions
  • Assist with packaging, material handling, and other production needs
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area in line with environmental regulations
What You Bring
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 7–12 months of relevant manufacturing, chemical processing, or industrial experience preferred
  • On-the-job training typically 1–3 months
  • Hands-on ability to operate and adjust industrial processing equipment
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capability
  • Comfort reading gauges, meters, dials, and calibrated scales
  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
  • Capable of documenting production data manually or electronically
  • Keen attention to detail; able to identify abnormal process conditions
  • Ability to multitask and make sound decisions under time pressure
Physical & Safety Readiness
  • Lift and carry up to 55 lbs regularly; up to 90 lbs occasionally
  • Stand and walk for extended periods (50–100% of shift)
  • Push, pull, climb, squat, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive hand movements
  • Wear required PPE: safety glasses, hard hat, and steel-toed shoes
  • Must be able to wear a full-face respirator
  • Strong commitment to safety, environmental, and quality procedures
  • Able to recognize hazards and respond appropriately
  • Willingness to work in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Clear and effective communication skills
