Job description

Overview
The Distribution SuperUser (Local) is responsible for local/account-specific support and reports into an operational P&L with a dotted line into the corporate deployment team. This position will receive direction on support needs, how to troubleshoot, and work prioritization from the regional superuser; however, this role reports to the site management and can receive day-to-day instruction from local management. Superuser responsibilities may be in addition to permanent job, such as supervisor. This position serves as technical support for operations and acts as the liaison with Information Technology, Implementations, and/or LMS teams on behalf of the account. Functions as internal consultant regarding system functionality required by operations as well as performing minor configuration changes and end user training. This position engages in new business work, site initiatives, conversions, and ongoing system maintenance activities. Evaluates processes to establish the effectiveness and measure results to the site's performance. Defines problem areas within the operations and develops creative solutions.
Responsibilities
  • Serves as local expert on WMS logic and functionality.
  • Serves as first-level technical support for site database operations, such as Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Yard Management Systems (YMS), Labor Management Systems (LMS), etc.
  • Regularly checks in with the operation/clerical staff to ensure immediate attention is provided for open questions and issues. Builds strong working relationships with the operations team.
  • Coordinates with regional superuser, Information Technology and operations as issues arise. Ensures issues are being identified, addressed, and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Participates in new business implementations if requested by regional superuser. These tasks can include participating in customer integrated testing, leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and other duties as needed.
  • Serves as implementation SWAT resource
  • Supports day to day work within the warehouse but obtains primary direction and prioritization from regional superuser who has visibility to more global needs.
  • Maintains, enhances, and expands knowledge to facilitate site systems proficiency.
  • Interfaces with Operations staff to review operating procedures and maximize system efficiencies. Provides regular communication to Operations and internal departments regarding operational issues, customer requirements, account specific issues, etc. Includes analysis, insight, and recommendations.
  • Designs, develops, and implements tools, which may include spreadsheets, databases, and other tools, to provide ongoing analysis of operational activities (e.g., storage capacities, inventory, throughput, etc.).
  • Identifies areas for improvement (service levels achievement, costs reduction, and accuracy).
  • Ability to reinforce correct processes with the job specific system(s) to the
  • users with explanations of why it is necessary.
  • Interfaces with customers to identify and resolve systems issues as well as part of improvement initiatives.
  • Manage aspects of testing, training, deployment and support of system setup and enhancements.
  • Participate in and/or lead continuous improvement projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Logistics, or related field (required).
  • Minimum one year Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Experience Required. Manhattan WMOS and or Softeon Preferred.
  • Minimum one year of related working knowledge in Distribution Operations
  • Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and project management skills.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems and balance long- and short-term needs
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner with minimal supervision
  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions, operational needs, and customer requirements.
  • Travel required up to 10% domestic based on new business requirements
