Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment in Columbus, Ohio.

This position is ideal for an imaging professional with at least 2 years of recent Interventional Radiology experience who is comfortable supporting image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in a fast-paced acute-care hospital environment.

The technologist will work closely with interventional radiologists, nurses, anesthesia providers, and other members of the procedural team to support safe, efficient, and accurate patient care.

Candidates must have current ARRT certification, BLS, ACLS, and strong hands-on experience with Siemens imaging equipment.

Key Responsibilities

        Assist physicians during interventional radiology procedures.

        Prepare procedure rooms, imaging equipment, supplies, and sterile fields.

        Position patients accurately for image-guided procedures.

        Operate Siemens imaging equipment safely and effectively.

        Obtain high-quality diagnostic and procedural images.

        Support a variety of vascular and nonvascular interventional procedures.

        Maintain sterile technique throughout invasive procedures.

        Assist with vascular access equipment, catheters, guidewires, and other procedural supplies.

        Monitor procedural workflow and anticipate physician and team needs.

        Support patient safety and comfort throughout procedures.

        Participate in procedural time-outs and safety checks.

        Follow radiation safety standards and appropriate protective practices.

        Maintain accurate procedural documentation.

        Collaborate effectively with radiologists, nurses, technologists, and other clinical staff.

        Respond appropriately during urgent or emergency procedural situations.

        Maintain compliance with infection-control, patient-safety, and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must have:

        Minimum 2 years of recent Interventional Radiology experience

        Current ARRT certification

        Current BLS

        Current ACLS

        Strong experience operating Siemens imaging equipment

        Experience supporting invasive image-guided procedures

        Strong knowledge of radiation safety and sterile technique

        Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment

        Strong communication and interdisciplinary teamwork skills

        Ability to participate in required call coverage

Preferred Qualifications

Strong candidates may also have:

        Epic electronic medical record experience

        Previous travel or contract IR experience

        Experience in a large acute-care hospital

        Experience with vascular and nonvascular procedures

        Experience with complex interventional radiology cases

        Experience with trauma or emergency IR procedures

        Experience with advanced fluoroscopic imaging systems

Schedule Requirements

        Day Shift

        Four 10-hour shifts per week

        8:30 AM - 7:00 PM

        40 hours per week

        Monday through Friday with a rotating weekday off

Call Requirements

Call participation is required and typically includes:

        Approximately one primary weekday call shift per month

        Approximately one backup weekday call shift per month

        Approximately one weekend every 6 weeks

        Weekend call may alternate between primary and backup coverage

Candidates must be able to respond to urgent procedural needs while assigned to call.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist who is confident supporting complex procedures and can work efficiently with physicians and procedural teams.

You should have strong Siemens equipment experience, excellent attention to detail, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to remain calm in urgent procedural situations.
