Job description

Summary: A Limited Medical Radiologic Technician's (LMRT) role consists of delivering high quality patient care, utilizing expertise in radiographic imaging to assist in diagnosing and treating patients. The LMRT collaborated with the Patient Care Technology team to assist with patient needs. The LMRT's scope of work is limited based on compliance with current licensure.

Essential Functions:

A: Job Specific

Prepare patients for radiological procedures by explaining the process and positioning them appropriately.

Operate radiographic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.

Follow physician instructions regarding the areas of the body to image and the imaging techniques to use.

Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during radiological examinations.

Maintain radiology equipment by performing regular inspections and troubleshooting minor issues.

Process and evaluate radiographic images to ensure they meet quality standards.

Maintain accurate patient records, including documenting procedures performed and images taken.

Adhere to all safety protocols and radiation protection standards to minimize exposure.

Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to discuss imaging results and patient care.

Maintain unit supplies by stocking patient rooms and supply areas to meet patient care needs.

Assist in keeping patient care areas and equipment clean.

Performs clerical and communication functions to support departmental operations and patient care.

HIPAA: Conduct job responsibilities in accordance with HIPAA privacy laws, follow hospital policy in provision of patient confidentiality. Able to identify patient confidentiality issues and reports to proper hospital personnel immediately.

Compliance: Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with standards set forth in FHMC Code of Conduct, FHMC policy and procedures, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable standards.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Licenses/Certification: Current BLS certification, LMRT certificate, ARRT and TX license
