Job Summary: Solution Architect-Intermediate - VF (Security Architecture)
Location: Columbus, OH 43215 | Job Type: Temp to Hire | CWR Type: W-2
About the Role
Join NiSource as a Solution Architect-Intermediate focused on Security Architecture, where you will lead the development and execution of security strategies across a dynamic energy enterprise. Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Architecture, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, implement, and communicate robust security architecture solutions that protect critical infrastructure. This is a unique opportunity to drive the future of cybersecurity in a high-impact, enterprise-level role.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute architectural vision, strategy, and roadmaps for identity management, threat management, and security assurance
- Analyze business drivers and industry trends to develop and refine security architecture requirements
- Create and evolve security architecture functions, governance structures, and best practice frameworks
- Act as a key advisor to IT and business leaders, providing solutions for complex security challenges
- Partner with Infrastructure, Application Development, and Operations teams on secure technology solutions
- Lead the implementation of security standards and processes across software development life cycles
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including physical security, service providers, and government agencies
- Manage incident response and problem management for long-term operational security
- Drive continuous improvement of security management tools, processes, and compliance technologies
- Communicate security outcomes and standards through effective education and engagement plans
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of Information Technology or Security experience
- Deep knowledge of security practices in Business, Application, Information, and Technical Architecture
- Proven experience developing future state architectures and actionable roadmaps
- Leadership in data management, business intelligence, and master data management
- Working familiarity with NIST, CIP, NERC, FERC, and energy industry security standards
- Strong communication, influence, and negotiation abilities
- Flexible to travel extensively on short notice
Preferred Skills
- Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, etc.)
- Experience with business process re-engineering and legacy/new computing architectures
- Multi-year strategic IT planning and ITIL application
- Enterprise-wide reuse program management
- Service provider management
