Intervention Aide (Grades 6-8)
Part-Time
St. Andrew School, located at 4081 Reed Road in Columbus, is seeking a part-time Intervention Aide (Grades 6-8) for the 2026-2027 school year.
Responsibilities:
  • Supports students growth by working with the Intervention department and Intervention Specialist
  • Reinforce strategies implemented by the classroom teacher and intervention specialist to promote student success
  • Communicate with the teacher and intervention specialist regarding scheduling, student concerns, and needs
  • Help in the classroom and organizational strategies that support the teacher
  • Familiarize and encourage students to use Technology presented by the teacher
  • Working cooperatively with classroom teachers and their aides to promote the mission
  • Encourage a respectful atmosphere where learning can occur
  • Other duties as needed per Principal request

Requirements:
  • Hold an appropriate aide license or be eligible to obtain one before starting to work
  • Experience working with students in small group resource, and/or inclusion settings preferred
  • Must be willing to work collaboratively with teachers to provide support services to students
  • Current satisfactory FBI and BCI background checks
  • Have attended or be willing to attend a VIRTUS Protecting God's Children training

I. JOB SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the teacher, this position provides support to the teacher and assists the teacher in planning and implementing lesson plans, incorporating all component Plans, and leading large and small groups of students; performs clerical/ receptionist duties and other duties as assigned. The position is expected to use personal judgment in carrying out routine duties and responsibilities.

All the duties and standards within this job description will be performed according to the established policies, procedures and guidelines outlined in the School's policy and procedures manuals.
II. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Assist faculty in the context of classroom instruction, small group/individual tutoring, practice and drill.
  2. Provide support in all areas of the classroom maintaining a clean, safe, and cheerful environment.
  3. Develop and maintain a positive relationship with administration, the students, their families, and volunteers; ensure that all feel welcome, and receive on-the-job training and communicate with parents on a regular basis.
  4. Assist Teacher in completing all required reports and distributing them to the appropriate people at the appropriate time; and assist in maintaining up-to-date and accurate files for all students, safeguarding privacy of records and confidential information.
  5. Eat and interact with students at meal times, serving as an appropriate role model to the students.
  6. Be familiar with, and perform duties, according to established policies, procedures, and regulations as assigned/directed.
  7. Performing supervisory duties as assigned.
  8. Maintain appropriate and accurate records.
  9. Assist Teacher with various projects as requested.
  10. Regular attendance and punctuality is essential for this job.

III. OTHER POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Complies with federal, state and local safety laws.
  2. Maintains a neat and safe work area.
  3. Assisting in the production of educational materials.
  4. Performing necessary clerical tasks; communication and interface.
  5. Provide support in keeping a current inventory, including all supplies and equipment, and ordering supplies in advance to avoid unnecessary shortages.
  6. Ensure that all classroom equipment is operational.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned
