Job description

Job Title: Machine Operator - $24/hr

Job Description

This role focuses on operating welding equipment to build stainless steel and aluminum components for a specialized project. You will primarily perform MIG welding, support fabrication activities, and ensure all parts meet quality and blueprint specifications in a traditional manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding on stainless steel and aluminum materials to build components for ongoing projects.
  • Support fabrication work, including fitting and assembling parts according to project requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to understand dimensions, tolerances, and welding specifications.
  • Use tape measures and other basic hand tools to accurately measure and verify component dimensions.
  • Carry out TIG and flux core welding as needed to complete project tasks and meet production goals.
  • Grind, finish, and inspect welded parts to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and maintain consistent workflow.
  • Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of MIG or TIG welding experience on stainless steel or aluminum material.
  • At least 1 year of experience reading and interpreting blueprints in a manufacturing or fabrication setting.
  • Proficiency in MIG welding techniques on stainless steel and aluminum.
  • Ability to perform TIG and flux core welding when required.
  • Strong blueprint reading skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to use tape measures and basic hand tools for precise measurement and layout.
  • Experience with fabrication, fitting, and grinding of metal components.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Additional experience in fabrication and fitting work to support timely project completion.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with a variety of metalworking tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a production-focused environment.
  • Commitment to following safety procedures and quality standards in all welding and fabrication tasks.
