Job description

Position: Senior Program Manager, Rapid Air Vehicle Product Development Work Location: Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, OH* Clearance Requirement: Top Secret with ability to obtain SCI Position Type / Standard Work Hours: Full-time / 40 hours / On-Site Summary/ Objective: Provides program management support to the execution of AFRL/CRI air vehicle prototypes (including airframe, avionics, sensors, payloads, ground control, communication networks, and data dissemination) that adapt and apply existing and near term technology to meet urgent warfighter needs. These projects entail a wide range of technical disciplines and require expertise and understanding of government acquisition processes, technology readiness assessment, rapid and spiral prototype development, operational testing and evaluation, and technology transition processes. A highly capable and experienced acquisition and program management specialist, with an understanding of warfighting operations, is required to fill this role. *Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.* Primary Responsibilities: * Leads development of solutions for urgent, near-term Warfighter needs through rapid innovation/integration of science and technology (S&T). * Spearheads payload development, integration, and testing for long endurance missions--rapidly adds newly emerging S&T and Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs). * Oversees rapid development of affordable long endurance platforms-develop, test and assess in 1-2 years at fractions of the cost. * Plans technical assessment of solutions and supports overseas operational evaluation of prototypes in concert with operational units. * Provides leadership, performance management, resource advocacy, and customer coordination throughout transition efforts. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Travel: Very little - less than 5% Required Education and/or Experience: * Minimum 10 years of experience and a MA/MS degree in related field Security Clearance: An active Top Secret clearance or higher is required.
