At CESO, a Survey CAD Technician II shall prepare scale drawings, and revisions for complex Survey projects based on the technical input provided by others. The Survey CAD Technician II will utilize drafting methods and procedures and operate computer-aided design (CAD) equipment and related software.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Understand advanced civil and survey drawings.
  • Draw detailed scale plans for a multitude of projects based on preliminary concepts, sketches, design guidelines, survey field data, courthouse and utility research.
  • Correlate and interpret data obtained from field data and research.
  • Prepare 2-D and 3-D detailed electronic maps, drawings, exhibits, descriptions and records using computer-assisted drafting software (CAD) including AutoCAD and Civil-3D.
  • Understanding of 3-D Surfaces, feature and line coding.
  • General knowledge of survey terms and procedures.
  • Research utility and deed information.
  • Prepare basic legal descriptions.
  • Understanding and creation of various types of survey deliverables.
  • Gain experience and knowledge in all facets of surveying in both field and office settings including surveying, construction and design.
  • Revise redline mark-ups as directed by others.
  • Prepare all drawings in compliance with company drawing and CAD standards.
  • Maintain and support the CAD process by reporting on software, hardware, and printing needs as they arise.
  • Assist in maintaining project budgets and deadlines.
  • Maintain current knowledge of software tools and best practices through continuous learning.
  • As needed, assist with fieldwork associated with boundary and topographic surveys and construction staking.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • Associate's degree or certificate in Drafting, CAD Technology, Engineering Technology or related field, with a minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training;
  • Or High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), with a minimum of 4 years of related experience and/or training is required.
  • NSPS CST Level 1 is preferred.
  • Computer skills necessary to enter daily timesheet data and use Microsoft Outlook for email correspondence.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
