The Division of Otology, Neurotology, and Cranial Base Surgery within the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking an accomplished academic otologist/neurotologist to serve as Division Director. This role offers an outstanding opportunity to lead and further develop one of the nation’s premier academic otology and neurotology programs within a highly collaborative and well‑supported department.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive otologic and neurotologic care, including skull base surgery, cochlear implantation, implantable hearing technologies, vestibular disorders, chronic ear disease, and hearing restoration.
- Perform clinical work at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, extending expertise to pediatric populations.
- Lead the division strategically, including faculty mentorship, recruitment, program development, and advancement of clinical, educational, and research missions.
- Actively engage in resident, fellow, and medical student education and contribute to the academic mission through scholarship, teaching, mentorship, and national professional engagement.
Qualifications
- MD or MD/PhD degree.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery residency.
- Fellowship training in otology/neurotology.
- Demonstrated excellence in clinical care, education, leadership, and scholarship.
- Experience in skull base surgery and cochlear implantation.
- Evidence of academic productivity and scholarly achievement.
- Leadership experience in academic medicine preferred.
- Eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Ohio.
