General Description
The Director of Clinical and Quality Services is the senior clinical leader responsible for enterprise-wide clinical governance, quality, patient safety, accreditation, education, and nursing oversight. The position provides professional oversight of Registered Nurses for matters related to the practice of nursing and partners with executive leadership to improve clinical outcomes, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and organizational performance.
This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and will oversee the Manager of Educational Services; Quality Coordinator(s); and all Registered Nurses in the organization on clinical matters only (specifically in the practice of nursing).
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Provides clinical leadership and nursing oversight.
Develops and executes the annual Quality Improvement Plan.
Leads quality assurance, patient safety, accreditation readiness, and performance improvement initiatives.
Establishes quality metrics, dashboards, and executive reports to drive decision-making.
Leads root cause analyses and corrective action plans.
Oversee clinical policies, standards, and evidence-based practice.
Partners with Medical Directors, Operations, HR, Safety, and Risk Management on clinical strategy, workforce planning, and risk reduction.
Oversee the Manager of Educational Services and ensures education programs support clinical and regulatory requirements.
Evaluates capital needs and clinical technology.
Develop departmental goals, budget, and strategic plans while fostering continuous improvement.
Maintains an active clinical presence by working a minimum of one clinical shift per week. Clinical scheduling will be determined in partnership with executive and operational leadership based on organizational needs and strategic priorities.

Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in nursing required; or the equivalent of at least 6 years of critical care nursing experience.
Current unrestricted Ohio RN license
3 years of leadership experience in quality improvement, performance improvement, or clinical services and quality.
Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and healthcare informatics.
BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ITLS certification (or obtained within 12 months of hire)
CMTE certifications within 2 years of hires.
CPHQ certification within 2 years of hire.
Valid driver's license meeting insurance requirements.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including clinical shifts.
Master's degree in nursing or related field.
Critical care transport experience
Experience with CAMTS, CASS, or other accreditation programs.
Experience using healthcare analytics or Power BI.
Knowledge of community hospital operations and EMS systems.
Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies and performance improvement principles.
Knowledge of healthcare regulatory and accreditation standards.
Knowledge of clinical governance and patient safety principles.
Knowledge of EMS and critical care transport operations.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Excellent written, verbal, and relationship-building skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and healthcare technology applications skills.
Ability to lead multiple competing initiatives simultaneously.
Ability to interpret clinical and operational data to support executive decision making.
Ability to build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and psychological safety.
Working Conditions
Work is primarily performed in an office environment; however, the position requires regular participation in clinical operations through scheduled clinical shifts to maintain operational insight and clinical competency.

Salary
Minimum salary of $98,000, with higher compensation based on experience
