Job description

As a Small Segment Strategy Manager – Vice President in Business Banking, you’ll be responsible for championing the needs of segment-specific business clients by translating client and banker insights into clear segment priorities, differentiated experiences, and scalable solutions.Small segment clients, with up to $1M in annual revenue, are the largest and fastest growing client segment within Business Banking.

You’llown a portfolio of priority initiativesfor the Small Segment Strategy team and translate strategy into measurable results. You’ll also build trusted partnerships with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders across Consumer and Community Banking (CCB) Strategy, Marketing, Digital, Product, Operations, and Data & Analytics to shape the roadmap for how we acquire, deepen relationships with, and retain clients at a segment level—using data to identify opportunities, remove friction, and continuously improve the end-to-end customer journey.

Job Responsibilities
  • Own and delivera portfolio of sub-segment initiatives by translating segment priorities into executable roadmaps, milestones, operating cadences, and KPIs/OKRs, and driving work from plan through launch and optimization.
  • Leadend-to-end program execution by scoping requirements, aligning cross-functional partners, managing timelines and dependencies, surfacing risks, and driving mitigation to deliver on-time and on-budget.
  • Diagnose and resolveclient and banker friction using structured problem-solving and design thinking; translate pain points into coordinated operational, digital, and product enhancements that improve satisfaction and retention.
  • Developdata-driven business cases and value hypotheses by synthesizing insights (including financial analysis as needed), sizing impact, securing approvals, and tracking value realization post-launch.
  • Design and optimizecustomer journeys collaborating with Marketing and Digital to shaping test-and-learn approaches and iterating based on performance signals and dashboards.
  • Communicate and influencesenior stakeholders by maintaining disciplined governance and executive-ready updates that highlight progress to plan, KPI trends, key decisions, risks, and recommended actions—while monitoring external/competitive trends to inform adjustments.
Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field; or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in Business Banking or Consumer Banking strategy, orcomparable strategy/consulting/program leadership experience, with exposure to Small Merchant Business (SMB) or Small Business clients
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept to launch and iteration; strong project/program management discipline
  • Strong business case and prioritization skills, including comfort with financial impact modeling and risk/feasibility trade‑offs
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication; ability to collaborate effectively and influence without direct authority across partner teams
  • Proactive, organized self-starter; strong judgment balancing speed and risk; own accountability for outcomes
  • Ability to travel occasionally for meetings, client events, and branch visits
Preferred qualifications, skills, and capabilities
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree
  • Experience developing/executing strategic plans within a sales organization
  • Competency in leveraging AI tools to support strategy development and accelerate planning/execution
  • Exposure to digital onboarding, sales enablement, customer-journey optimization, and/or go-to-market execution in financial services
