Job description

The Student, Central Supervisor is responsible for the daily operational leadership and oversight of the College's student services one-stop. This position ensures consistent, accurate, and high-quality service delivery across financial aid, student records, registration, residency, and general campus services. The Supervisor provides direct oversight of front-line service functions, including the front desk, computer lab, student workers, ID services, scheduling, and office logistics, and leads operational implementation of the HECC program within Student Central.

Operational & Department Leadership

  • Directs day-to-day Student Central operations, ensuring service accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with College policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitors service demand, workflow, and coverage; adjusts staffing and processes to support high-volume service periods.
  • Provides hands-on assistance across service areas, including the front desk, computer lab, ID services, and chat during peak times, absences, or operational disruptions to ensure consistency for students.
  • Serves as primary escalation point for complex student and family issues requiring advanced interpretation of policy and process.
  • Ensures consistent application of procedures across service areas and staff.
  • Oversees front-line staff, supporting the computer lab, ID services, and front desk operations.
  • Provides direct supervision of student workers including hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, and corrective action as appropriate.
  • Ensures staff readiness through ongoing training related to customer service standards, FERPA, and student information systems.
  • Oversees daily scheduling and staffing alignment to ensure adequate coverage during peak and non-peak periods.
  • Manages Student Central office logistics, including space utilization, supplies, signage, and service configuration.
  • Oversees computer lab operations to support student access and appropriate use.

Program Management

  • Leads operational implementation and ongoing oversight of the HECC program within Student Central, ensuring consistency and compliance.
  • Identifies process gaps and operational risks; develops and implements improvements to enhance service delivery and efficiency.
  • Maintains operational documentation and procedures to support staff consistency and continuity.
  • Ensures adherence to FERPA, institutional policies, and applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Supports data tracking, service metrics, and reporting related to operational performance and student service trends.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Works collaboratively with Financial Aid, Records, Registration, Residency, IT, and other campus partners to support integrated service delivery.
  • Communicates procedural updates, operational expectations, and service standards to staff and leadership.
  • Contributes to planning for peak enrollment periods, system transitions, and operational initiatives.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in student services, enrollment services, or a related higher-education area.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience, including oversight of student employees.
  • Schedule includes some evening and Saturday hours
