Position Overview

This Operations Management leadership role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the company, ensuring that business processes are efficient, effective, and aligned with the company's strategic goals. This role involves managing a team of operations managers, developing and implementing operational policies and procedures, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and profitability.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives.

  • Collaborate with senior management to set performance goals and objectives for the operations team.

  • Reviews key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and drive operational excellence.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operations managers and staff, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

  • Identify training and development needs and implement programs to enhance team capabilities.

  • Analyze existing operational processes and identify opportunities for strategic improvement aligned with the Company's overall objectives.

  • Implement best practices and lean methodologies to streamline operations and reduce costs.

  • Oversee the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and compliance.

  • Manage the allocation of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize operational efficiency.

  • Develop and manage budgets for the operations department, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.

  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of materials.

  • Ensure that all operations comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies.

  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of quality assurance programs to ensure the highest standards of product and service delivery.

  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and address any compliance issues.

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, marketing, finance, and P&C, to ensure seamless integration of operations with overall business functions.

  • Communicate operational performance and progress to senior management and other stakeholders.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, vendors, and customers.

  • Lead strategy and execution across multiple teams or product areas.

  • Provide training, support, and development opportunities to team members to ensure high performance and engagement.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for professional development.

What You'll Bring to Zelis:

  • Typically has Bach. +15 yrs.; Masters +10 yrs.; Demonstrated accomplishment internally and externally; Has followership in subject matter area; Attends company training and regional training in area of expertise. Presents own work to members of department and external consultants and external professional societies.

  • Requires proficiency using AI tools skillfully with an understanding of how to develop/create intelligent prompts and/or agents.

  • Strong financial and operational management skills.

  • Ability to drive strategic initiatives and influence executive stakeholders.

  • Experience with organizational design and change management.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing and improving operational processes in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Proficiency in using operations management software and tools.

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
