West Fraser offers a range of exciting career opportunities for individuals seeking challenging and rewarding careers. Our Chetwynd Forest Industries division is recruiting for a Certified Welder.
You'll Do:
- Maintaining a safe work environment
- Ensuring consistent operations of equipment
- Maintenance of pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers & chains, bearings and hydraulics involved in the manufacturing process
- Undertake a preventative maintenance program for equipment
- Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to repair equipment
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the assembly, installation, set-up and repair of equipment and machinery
- Repair and assemble hydraulic equipment and cylinders
- Verify and document completed repairs
You have:
- Valid Journeyperson Welding Certification
- 3+ Years of experience in an industrial / manufacturing environment
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision
- Organizational and planning skills to prioritize daily / weekly tasks
- The knowledge and skills to recognize opportunities for improvements and savings
Compensation Package:
- The hourly pay for this position starts at $50.89

The District of Chetwynd is located in the foothills of the eastern slope of the Rocky Mountains. It is British Columbia’s entrance to the mighty Peace River Country.
