Client Delivery Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced Client Delivery Manager to join their Client Delivery team. This role is strictly reserved for candidates with demonstrable experience within the card payments industry. Candidates without direct experience in card issuing, merchant acquiring, payment processing, card schemes, or related payment technologies will not be considered. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of projects, releases, and client initiatives within a card payments environment. Acting as the primary link between customers, business stakeholders, and technical teams, the Client Delivery Manager will ensure successful delivery outcomes while maintaining strong client relationships and governance processes. This is a highly client-facing, hands-on position requiring extensive card payments expertise, delivery management experience, and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders across business and technical functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of projects, releases, and client initiatives for a portfolio of card payments clients.
  • Lead client discovery sessions, requirements workshops, and solution refinement discussions.
  • Oversee delivery governance, project timelines, risks, dependencies, and resource coordination.
  • Perform impact assessments across systems, integrations, operational processes, and technical environments.
  • Work closely with Product, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Operations, and Project Management teams to ensure successful delivery outcomes.
  • Analyse APIs, file specifications, payment messaging formats, and transaction processing flows, including ISO 8583.
  • Monitor delivery progress and proactively manage risks, blockers, and escalations.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for clients, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and professionally.
  • Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
  • Support release planning, deployment activities, and change management processes.
  • Lead client workshops, governance meetings, and stakeholder reviews both remotely and on-site.
  • Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, operational efficiency, and customer outcomes.
Mandatory Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years of experience within the card payments industry.
  • Proven hands-on experience within card issuing, merchant acquiring, payment processing, card schemes, or related payment technology environments.
  • Strong background managing delivery, implementation, or client-facing projects within acquiring environments.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party providers.
  • Strong understanding of payment ecosystems, transaction lifecycles, settlement processes, and card payment platforms.
  • Experience conducting impact assessments, release planning, and delivery governance activities.
  • Ability to lead client engagements, workshops, steering committees, and escalation management processes independently.
  • Strong technical understanding of APIs, payment messaging protocols, transaction processing systems, and integrations.
  • Experience analysing payment flows and transaction-related data.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working with payment processors, acquirers, issuers, fintechs, or card scheme environments.
  • Knowledge of scheme compliance requirements and payment regulations.
  • Experience delivering projects across international markets.
  • Willingness to travel internationally when required.
Location Requirements

Candidates must either:

  • Be based in Malta and available to work in a hybrid environment; or
  • Be based in Eastern Europe or Turkey and available to work remotely.
