Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Digital Pharmacy Product, the API Product Manager owns and extends Gifthealth's external API offering across both our hub and pharmacy platforms. The position is client-facing, serving external partners such as pharma manufacturers and telehealth providers whose prescriptions come into Gifthealth.

We are seeking an API Product Manager to support our product team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, operational excellence, and compliance standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Defines and drives the roadmap for our external API product
  • Supports integrations with pharma manufacturers and telehealth provider partners
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and commercial teams
  • Ensures the API experience meets the needs of external clients as we scale

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, marketing or related field OR equivalent practical experience (Required)
  • Licensure/Certification: None
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years product management or technical experience (Required)
    • Experience owning a project end-to-end with meaningful trade-off decisions (Required)
    • Experience in pharmacy, healthcare, logistics, supply chain, or operations (Preferred)
    • Experience building products for non-technical or frontline users (Preferred)
    • Experience in regulated or high-stakes environments (Preferred)
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
    • Knowledge of product management principles; RESTful APIs, API specifications and integration patterns and practices; API gateways, developer portals, versioning, security (OAuth, JWT), and governance best practices to ensure scalable and secure API ecosystems; and HIPAA compliance requirements related to data management (Required)
    • Knowledge of healthcare data interchange standards (Preferred)
    • Cross-functional collaboration & communication skills (Required)
    • Product strategy & road mapping skills (Required)
    • Data analysis & customer centric data-driven decision-making skills (Required)
    • Agile product lifecycle management skills (Preferred)
    • Ability to interpret API specifications and effectively collaborate with engineering peers to clarify requirements and ensure accurate implementation (Required)
    • Ability to utilize AI tools and methodologies throughout the product and engineering lifecycle to enhance efficiency, decision-making, and delivery outcomes (Preferred)
    • Ability to effectively operate in ambiguous environments and establish clear processes to drive structure, alignment, and execution (Preferred)

Work Environment

  • Location: Remote
  • Schedule: 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday with night and weekend hours on occasion as determined by the needs of the business.
  • Regular meetings with Hub and pharmacy product, project management, and engineering teams. This role may also have meetings with external client and vendor representatives.

Key Essential Functions

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while writing or reviewing documentation
  • Must be able to work on a computer for the entire shift
  • Must be able to attend virtual meetings with cross-functional teams
