Interim Accounting Manager Our client, a residential construction and services company, is seeking an Interim Accounting Manager to provide hands-on support during a transition period. This role is hybrid, with in-office requirements 3 days/week in Los Gatos, CA. This role has an initial duration of 3 months, with a strong likelihood of extension. Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day accounting operations and maintain accurate financial records Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, customer billing, and collections activities Process project-based billing and ensure transactions are supported by accurate documentation Prepare journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and complete bank and account reconciliations Lead month-end close activities and ensure accounting deliverables are completed accurately and on time Process payroll and maintain related accounting records and reconciliations Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting workflows Serve as the primary accounting contact and provide financial support to senior leadership Requirements: 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of day-to-day accounting operations Construction, contracting, or project-based accounting experience Experience with project billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and month-end close Proficiency with construction-focused accounting software or a comparable ERP platform Strong general ledger knowledge with the ability to work independently, manage priorities, and communicate effectively with leadership Compensation: Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco by Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors, including but not limited to: The individual’s skill sets, experience, and training; Licensure and certifications; Office location and other geographic considerations; Other business and organizational needs.
