Job description

Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS) is currently seeking a NJ licensed Surveyor to join our team! We are looking for someone that will support our mission to consistently deliver creative, high-quality, technology-based services to our customers on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate will be a NJ licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) with a background in boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS and construction surveying. This position is primarily in-office with occasional field coordination.  The candidate will work and direct the Survey team in addition to supporting our in-house Engineering Departments.  The successful candidate shall have excellent communication skills to work with Clients, prepare budgets and proposals and manage the survey projects.

The office is in Washington, New Jersey.


What will you be doing?

Duties include:

  • Estimating and proposal writing, client contact
  • Manage survey projects, maintain project budgets
  • Coordinate project requirements with team members
  • Prepare preliminary and final plats, legal descriptions, exhibits
  • Perform construction stake out and calculations, boundary, ALTA and topo surveys


What skills will the ideal candidate have to be successful?


This position will require the following skillsets and experience:

  • Must have +4 years’ experience for the above stated duties.
  • Proficiency with Total Station
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Ability to manage and assist field crew
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask with respect to projects, CAD/computer standards, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products (Explorer, Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work as a team player
  • Possess organizational and communication skills
