Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join the Operating Room team. The CST will function as a scrub technologist, working under the supervision of the surgeon and RN to ensure a safe, efficient, and sterile surgical environment. This role requires strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy, instrumentation, and sterile technique to support high-quality patient care during operative and invasive procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform scrub role during surgical procedures

• Ensure OR environment safety and equipment functionality

• Prepare and complete case carts per surgeon preference cards

• Identify and procure required instruments and supplies

• Coordinate with OR staff and Sterile Processing Department (SPD)

• Review daily schedules and anticipate turnover or supply issues

• Support communication between surgical services, SPD, and materials management

• Manage core phone communications, coordinate breaks and workflow

• Assist in maintaining sterile field and patient safety standards

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent military program

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required

• AHA BLS certification required

• Knowledge of surgical techniques, anatomy, and instrumentation

• Ability to work in a fast-paced OR environment

Additional Terms:

• Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract (low census/unforeseen events)

• Traveler must live at least 90 miles away from the work location
