Job description

Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic Retail Store Leader in Hager City, WI, with a commitment to excellent customer service, to lead our store operations with enthusiasm and precision. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily store activities, motivate your team, and ensure an exceptional shopping experience for our customers. Your leadership will drive sales growth, optimize inventory management, and foster a positive, customer-focused environment. As this is a new store, this position is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a go-getter mentality, strong communication and management skills to make a significant impact by building a successful retail store from the ground up alongside owner and retail sales manager. Additionally, the Retail Store Manager will contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results completing special projects and tasks delegated by supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise all store operations, including sales, customer service, inventory control, and staffing.
  • Recruit, interview, and onboard new team members while providing ongoing training and development to enhance performance.
  • Manage employee schedules and shift assignments to ensure optimal coverage and efficiency.
  • Oversee merchandising, pricing strategies, and promotional activities to maximize sales potential.
  • Maintain accurate store bookkeeping, cash handling procedures, and POS (Point of Sale) system operations.
  • Implement effective inventory management practices including stock ordering, stocking, purchasing, and inventory audits.
  • Ensure excellent customer service by greeting and interacting with customers, addressing inquiries promptly and resolving issues professionally.
  • Monitor sales metrics and retail math to meet or exceed store targets while managing budgets responsibly.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, motivate staff, and promote a collaborative work environment.
  • Uphold store policies related to safety, cleanliness, organization, and compliance with company standards.

Experience/Knowledge

  • Proven management experience in retail environments with a focus on team supervision and sales management.
  • Strong background in inventory control, merchandising, POS systems/PC, cash handling, and retail math.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively and handle customer interactions with professionalism.
  • Prior assistant manager or supervisory experience in grocery stores or similar retail settings is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with marketing strategies, fireworks and smokeshop inventory, and store merchandising techniques will be beneficial.
  • Must have or be able to acquire and hold Alcohol Operator's and Tobacco Seller's Licenses.
