    Position Overview
    TAP Engineering is seeking a Software Integration Engineer IV to support High Performance Computing (HPC) operations as part of the HPC Operations Team. This role provides advanced HPC sustainment and software integration capabilities across two geographically dispersed mission environments.
    The Software Integration Engineer IV supports large-scale, multi-vendor HPC platforms and high-speed shared parallel storage systems, while partnering closely with HPC and ABS (AbundantShield) Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams. The ideal candidate is a senior-level engineer with deep technical expertise in Linux-based HPC environments, strong software integration skills, and the ability to lead complex system transitions into operations.
    Technical Environment
    • Multi-vendor HPC servers, clusters, and specialized compute platforms (cluster, SMP, MPP, SPD)
    • Linux operating systems: Red Hat, CentOS, SUSE, and custom vendor-specific platforms
    • High-speed shared parallel storage systems (e.g., Lustre, GPFS)
    • Low-latency, high-bandwidth network interconnects (e.g., InfiniBand, Slingshot)
    • Enterprise-scale compute, storage, and network infrastructure

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide advanced HPC software integration and sustainment support across geographically dispersed environments
    • Integrate, install, configure, upgrade, compile, and support COTS and GOTS software in heterogeneous operating system environments
    • Provide operational support for HPC software to ensure system availability, performance, and mission readiness
    • Support and collaborate with HPC and ABS (AbundantShield) SRE teams in accordance with Government-defined policies and procedures
    • Adhere to Government-designated ticket tracking, change approval, change management, and coding standards
    • Support and utilize Government-deployed base SRE tools and frameworks
    • Lead and support the transition of new and upgraded HPC systems, servers, and parallel file systems into operations
    • Coordinate across organizations to plan, deliver, and integrate new HPC sustainment capabilities
    • Troubleshoot complex software, system, storage, and integration issues across HPC platforms
    • Develop, maintain, and enhance scripts and automation tools to improve operational efficiency
    • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
    • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers as required

    Required Qualifications
    • Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (most recent poly within the last 7 years)
    • DoD 8570 IAT II certification
    • Extensive experience administering and supporting Linux-based HPC systems
    • Proficiency with Linux shell scripting
    • Proficiency in one or more object-oriented programming languages: C, C++, Java
    • Python programming experience
    • Familiarity with GCC compilers, multi-threaded software, and parallel processing concepts
    • Experience with CORBA, J2EE, Perl, or JavaScript
    • Working knowledge of configuration management tools
    • Strong structured troubleshooting skills across complex HPC environments
    • Experience installing and supporting HPC GOTS schedulers and resource management software
    • Ability to operate effectively in a 24/7 mission-critical environment
