Job description

Clayton Services is searching for an Inside Sales Representative to join a growing company in North Houston. The Inside Sales Representative will be responsible for managing customer relationships, preparing quotes, processing orders, and supporting the full sales cycle from inquiry through shipment.
Job Type: Direct Hire
Pay Rate: $60,000 - $70,000/year + annual discretionary bonus
Benefits: Medical, dental, vision (employer-paid base plan), 401(k) with match, life insurance, PTO
Inside Sales Representative Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer interactions including RFQs, technical inquiries, returns, and warranty claims
  • Prepare accurate and timely quotes based on customer specifications and requirements
  • Manage order entry, including updates, revisions, and change orders within internal systems
  • Track orders through the production process to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain cradle-to-grave ownership of orders until shipment (shipping handled by internal department)
  • Communicate order status updates to customers and resolve issues as needed
  • Collaborate with internal teams including operations, quality, and engineering to ensure smooth order execution
  • Support continuous improvement in sales processes, customer communication, and internal workflows
  • Follow all company policies related to safety, quality, and customer service standards
  • Other duties as assigned
Inside Sales Representative Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to learn technical products and translate customer needs into solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams); experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) is a plus
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work cross-functionally
Inside Sales Representative Education and Experience:
  • 1-2 years of professional experience preferred (sales support, customer service, or similar role)
  • Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply
  • No degree required; equivalent work experience considered
  • Industry experience not required; training will be provided
