Job Description:
The Senior Field Service Engineer (FSE) – Team Leader is a full-time, on-site role based in Fort Washington, PA. This role is responsible for leading and mentoring a team of field service engineers while performing installation, commissioning, qualification, and maintenance of pharmaceutical and biotechnology equipment at customer sites.
Day-to-day activities include diagnosing and resolving technical issues, executing preventive maintenance plans, coordinating service schedules, and ensuring timely, high-quality service delivery. The Senior FSE – Team Leader will serve as a primary technical contact for customers, provide on-site and remote support, document service activities, and ensure compliance with cGMP, safety, and company standards. The role also involves collaborating with internal teams, supporting training initiatives, and contributing feedback to improve products, processes, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
·Strong field service experience, including on-site installation, commissioning, and qualification of complex electro-mechanical or process equipment.
·Proficiency in troubleshooting and technical support, including root-cause analysis and resolving mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
·Experience performing preventive maintenance and calibration activities, with a focus on reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance.
·Excellent customer service skills, including clear communication, professionalism, and the ability to manage expectations and build long-term relationships.
·Proven team leadership or supervisory experience, including mentoring, task coordination, and performance oversight of field technicians or engineers.
·Background in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated industries (cGMP experience strongly preferred).
·Ability and willingness to travel regularly to customer sites, sometimes on short notice, and work in cleanroom and production environments as required.
·Strong documentation and reporting skills, including use of service management tools and adherence to quality and safety procedures.
·Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mechatronics, industrial technology, or a related technical field; equivalent military or industry experience will be considered.
·Valid driver’s license and authorization to work
·Ability to travel 25–50% as needed
Preferred Qualifications
·Experience with advanced analytical or pharmaceutical equipment.
·Knowledge of automation or diagnostic software tools.
·Previous Team Lead or Senior FSE experience.
·Salesforce or FSM platform experience.
