Job description

Project Manager Transmission Line Projects

The Project Manager will oversee and coordinate all phases of both overhead and underground transmission line projects, ensuring successful execution from initiation through closeout. This role is responsible for driving project profitability, meeting deadlines, and fostering strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and key stakeholders. The position also supports business development efforts in collaboration with Account Managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of proposals, participate in client presentations, and assist in contract negotiations.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, overseeing all aspects of project coordination, planning, budgeting, and scope control.

  • Manage the entire project lifecycle, including siting, permitting, cost estimation, engineering, ROW acquisition, procurement, construction oversight, and closeout.

  • Track and manage project scope, schedule, and budget performance.

  • Oversee project financials, including forecasting, accruals, resource planning, and risk management.

  • Develop and enforce project policies, procedures, execution plans, and control systems.

  • Ensure compliance with QA/QC standards and maintain high client satisfaction across all deliverables.

  • Provide regular reporting on project status, metrics, and risk management.

  • Manage engineering-only projects by overseeing budgets, quality control, subcontractor coordination, and schedule adherence.

  • Prepare and administer client change orders, subcontractor agreements, and project startup documentation.

  • Lead client meetings and deliver status updates.

  • Enforce safety protocols in accordance with company and site-specific guidelines.

  • Perform additional duties as needed in alignment with company standards and policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in utility transmission line projects, including at least 3 years in a project management capacity.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication abilities.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical capabilities.

  • Experience managing diverse stakeholders and navigating contract requirements.

  • Willingness and ability to travel as project demands require.

  • Valid drivers license in accordance with company vehicle use policy.
