    Job description

    You’ll join Slalom’s Northern California team as part of our Retail and Consumer Goods practice, partnering closely with clients to shape strategy, drive transformation, and deliver meaningful business outcomes. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional Slalom teams, including Client Partners, Sales Executives, and practitioners across technology and business consulting disciplines, to build and grow lasting client relationships.

    In this role, you’ll work alongside leaders and delivery teams to bring innovative solutions to market, solve complex business challenges, and expand Slalom’s presence across Retail and Consumer Goods accounts. You’ll also play a key role in mentoring teams, fostering collaboration, and contributing to the continued growth of the practice.

    What You’ll Do

    A Client Partner builds close relationships with a portfolio of clients by engaging and understanding their strategic priorities and business objectives. The main responsibilities are focused on representing Slalom’s consulting and technology services, setting account strategy, delivering solutions, leading teams, driving sales, and growing a meaningful portfolio in a high-opportunity market.

    • Grow and manage a $1-3M+ portfolio across Retail and/or Consumer Goods clients
    • Deliver complex solutions on direct engagements – this role will carry a utilization target of 60%+
    • Build and deepen executive-level client relationships while driving long-term account growth
    • Develop and execute account strategies across existing and new clients
    • Lead proposals, pursuits, negotiations, and deal execution in partnership with cross-functional teams
    • Shape and oversee outcome-based consulting solutions that address client challenges and create new opportunities
    • Lead and contribute to complex engagements and transformational programs
    • Orchestrate and coach pursuit and delivery teams through collaboration and mentorship
    • Partner across Slalom practices and alliance ecosystems to drive pipeline and revenue growth
    • Maintain strong industry awareness and apply Retail and Consumer Goods expertise to client engagements
    What You’ll Bring
    • 8+ years of experience leading and growing client accounts within a consulting or IT services environment
    • Proven success managing and expanding large accounts or portfolios
    • Experience building and executing account plans in partnership with sales and delivery leaders
    • Strong background in contract negotiation, including NDAs, MSAs, and SOWs
    • Executive presence with exceptional communication, storytelling, and relationship-building skills
    • Experience leading teams across the full project lifecycle, including delivery oversight and consultant performance management
    • Proven experience leading complex, multi-workstream programs from initiation through delivery, ensuring alignment to business objectives, timelines, budgets, and measurable outcomes.
    • Demonstrated ability to proactively manage program risks, dependencies, stakeholder expectations, and executive communications to drive successful delivery across cross-functional teams.
    • Retail and Consumer Goods industry expertise, with an established Northern California network preferred
    • Ability to shape and sell solutions across areas such as digital commerce, transformation, cloud, AI or data & analytics
    • Experience working within partner-led or alliance-driven sales motions
    • Strong problem-solving, conflict management, and decision-making capabilities
    • A hands‑on, collaborative leadership style with a track record of driving outcomes across complex engagements

    Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this role, we are hiring at the following levels and targeted base pay salary ranges: The targeted base salary pay range for San Francisco is $171,000 to $256,500. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
