Position Title: Senior International Tax Accountant
Department: Accounting/Financial Services

Overview:
The Tax Department is responsible for tax compliance, technology, special projects, research, and audit defense functions for independently owned franchised restaurants and corporate activities. We exist to provide tax planning, regulatory reporting and consulting to stakeholders, governments, external auditors, and business leaders. As we grow in complexity and global footprint, we seek to influence business decisions, reduce tax liability, and mitigate risk.
This International Senior Tax Accountant’s role is essential to the international tax reporting function and requires coordination with other functional groups and outside consultants. This role’s primary responsibility will be to support the Tax Department’s Income Tax Compliance function by assisting with the corporate income tax returns of our international subsidiaries. The role will contribute as part of a team while also leading individual projects with respect to the preparation and filing of International corporate income tax returns, estimated payments and extensions.
Responsibilities:
- Research technical tax issues related to international activities
- Write technical tax memorandums
- Prepare, process, review, and file corporate income tax returns for our international subsidiaries
- Calculate, file, and initiate estimated income tax payments for our international subsidiaries
- Prepare or review supporting international tax workpapers
- Prepare and file informational reporting returns for our international subsidiaries
- Process withholding tax returns and payments for our international subsidiaries
- Reconcile general ledger tax liability accounts and investigate account differences and issues
- Research and answer notices and other correspondence regarding income taxes, payments, general account information from international taxing jurisdictions
- Collect information for income tax audits and communicate effectively with auditors from international taxing authorities
- Provide input for technology-related changes for process improvements
- Monitor continually changing international tax laws and regulations by attending CPE conferences, researching relevant sources and tax news publication
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4 years of income tax experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Tax or Finance
- CPA
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4+ years of income tax experience
- Masters Degree in Accounting, Tax or Finance
- CPA or JD
Minimum Years of Experience:
- 4 years of related experience
Travel Requirements: 10%
Required Level of Education: Bachelor of Science
Preferred Level of Education: Master’s Degree
Minimum GPA: 3.0
