Summary/Job Scope:

- To provide plant operator support/relief for the primary plant supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordination of daily plant operations and personnel
  • Operation of computerized batch panel
  • Monitoring raw material feed, truck availability and sequencing, customer needs and mix designs to assure product quality and timely delivery
  • Ordering raw materials
  • Over-see the cleaning of mixer, chutes, conveyors, catwalks and other general plant areas to eliminate material build-up
  • General housekeeping of batch office
  • Troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic and electrical problems in the plant
  • Verify lubrication of all plant equipment and documentation
  • Minor repair of all plant equipment
  • Assisting in emergency repair situations of plant
  • Basic preventive maintenance
  • Knowledge of basic office machinery
  • Record keeping, maintaining files, answer phones   and data entry
  • Provide directions and assistance to drivers using radio equipment and mapping software
  • Coordinate daily functions with various operations

Qualifications:

  • Minimum MCA Level 1 Technician or ability to pass within 6 months of hire
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time in a fast paced environment
  • Knowledge of materials and equipment (e.g., conveyor lines, concrete plant)
  • Knowledge of lock-out, tag-out, and confined space procedures
  • Ability to work extended weekday hours and weekends
  • Willingness to travel to other plants  
  • Able to interact and clearly communicate to all levels of the company, customers, vendors and support agencies.
  • Must possess strong management, interpersonal, analytical and computer skills

Salary Range: $ 63,000 to $ 70,000
