    Job description

As the Physical Security Systems Specialist, you will lead all aspects of Ripple's Global Security strategy for physical security systems. This role involves coordinating the entire lifecycle of our access control and video surveillance infrastructure. Responsibilities range from initial development and managing projects for new builds to providing daily operational support and handling break/fix issues. Your knowledge will be essential to maintaining the strength and efficiency of security technology across Ripple's worldwide operations.

A core responsibility of this role will be to apply technical solutions to improve existing processes. This ensures our program stays modern and adapts to Ripple's changing risk profile. You will be required to go beyond traditional management by:

    • Bringing to bear Technology to Improve Processes: Proactively identify and deploy innovative technical solutions to improve existing physical security processes. This includes integrating analytics powered by AI, automation, and advanced data correlation to improve efficiency, reduce manual oversight, and provide proactive threat intelligence.
    • Encouraging a Culture of Innovation: Offer expert insights on new security technologies and suggest methods to protect our systems from future threats. Integrate solutions that enable Ripple's technical security program to grow efficiently.
    • The role will lead efforts to keep our technical security infrastructure flexible and strong. It will adapt to new and complex threats as Ripple's business and global presence grow.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO:
    • Act as the lead resource for technical security, sharing insights on new technologies and supporting the architecture, engineering, and integration of global physical security systems.
    • Build, implement, and maintain Ripple's global technical security infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, resilience, and efficiency across both on-premise and cloud environments.
    • Develop and enforce global physical security standards and technical specifications to ensure long-term resilience and compliance with internal, external, and regulatory requirements.
    • Manage the full lifecycle of physical security projects, including developing and driving roadmap and budget requirements for design-build, break-fix, and preventive maintenance (PPM).
    • Lead vendor relationships, measuring the performance of third-party contractors and security integrators to ensure successful installation, troubleshooting, and continuous support for all security systems.
    • Coordinate system administration, configuration, and maintenance of security systems, including monitoring and managing all software and firmware updates to ensure consistent functionality.
    • Deploy innovative security solutions by bringing to bear existing tool suites and your deep knowledge of the latest technological advancements to achieve effective risk management and efficiencies.
    • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure that all technical security systems meet and exceed regulatory and company requirements.
    • Provide expert technical support in-region for new security systems and, where necessary, lead the project management of security system changes from planning to progress reporting.

    WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
    • Proven expertise shown through a minimum of five years' experience handling enterprise physical security systems, including access control, visitor management, and CCTV systems such as Avigilon or Alta Open, with growing responsibility.
    • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of information technology operations supported by work experience, education or certification including ITSM/ITIL, PMP, etc.
    • Experience managing people, projects and vendors with successful delivery in a timely manner and on-budget.
    • Strong sense of integrity, and the capability to manage confidential issues professionally with suitable judgment and maturity.
    • Determination and the skill to develop from the beginning are essential.
