    Job description

    Printers Row Publishing Group, a division of ReaderLink Distribution Services, seeks an entry-leve, detail-oriented editorial assistant to help in the daily communications and support in their imprint, Dreamtivity. Daily responsibilities range from copywriting and editing to departmental communication and administrative support. The ideal candidate would be able to efficiently manage a diverse set of responsibilities and would be a motivated and enthusiastic individual who is interested in participating in all aspects of book publishing.

    What You Will Be Doing: 

    • Writing: Execute copywriting assignments on an as-needed basis for book content, back cover copy, and sales and marketing copy.  
    • Proofing: Review, proofread, fact-check, and edit content to ensure accuracy and clarity. 
    • Data Entry: Enter and maintain title information in title management database; audit past information in database for accuracy.  
    • Project Management: Support the Publisher in developing publishing plans by assisting with product creation, brainstorming with other Creative staff members, researching trends and competitor products, creating Job Requests, and maintaining workflow records. 
    • Provide support for the creative team.
    • Assist in uploading materials to online approval systems for licensed titles. 
    • Assist in the creation of mockups and sales materials to secure customer commitments.  
    • Maintain and organize idea libraries, sample libraries, and archive copies.  
    • Administrative duties include scanning, printing/saving files, mailing assistance, and filing. 
    • Other duties may be assigned, directed, or requested.

    What You Will Need:

    • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications or a related field is required.
    • Minimum one (1) to two (2) years of experience in the advertising or publishing industry is preferred.
    • Strong to advanced experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
    • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and other design programs is preferred.
    • Excellent administrative, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong attention to detail with exceptional proofreading and copyediting abilities.
    • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to speak with all levels of the organization and outside partners.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
    • A methodical and organized approach to problem-solving.
    • The work performed is in an office environment.
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate at low decibels.
    • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team environment.                                     
    Salary: $28.84/hour - $32.69/hour
