Job description

As a data center plant engineer, you’ll ensure our data centers run smoothly and efficiently. In this role, you’ll monitor critical equipment operations 24/7, directly supporting our commitment to 100% uptime. You’ll operate, repair, install, and maintain critical operating systems, including complex electrical, HVAC, and central plant equipment, in compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, EPA, and ASHRAE guidelines. You’ll also oversee the operation, repair, and maintenance of AHU units, VAV boxes, CRAH units, exhaust systems, electric motors, air compressors, commercial refrigeration equipment, and ice machines, ensuring every system performs at its best.

Schedule: This role follows a repeating two-week schedule: Week 1, Wednesday-Sunday, 2:00 PM-12:00 AM; Week 2, Wednesday-Friday, 2:00 PM-12:00 AM. Must be flexible to cover other shifts as needed.

Location: Mayfield Village, Ohio

Must-have qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED equivalent or higher and a minimum of five years HVAC/Electrical or related experience
  • This position requires appropriate licenses and certifications as required by the state or municipality
  • This position requires a valid driver's license and auto insurance
  • This position requires compliance with Progressive's driving standards and/or policies

Preferred skills

  • Familiar with preventive and predictive maintenance processes.
  • Raised floor and/or mission-critical systems knowledge.
  • Knowledge of electrical controls/systems/PDU/RPP/STS/UPS/Generators/Paralleling Gear.
  • Ability to interpret and work from one-lines, schematics, blueprints (structural, architectural, MEP, etc.).
  • Demonstrates a high degree of problem-solving and decision-making ability, as well as the ability to remain calm in stressful work situations and take charge during emergencies.

Compensation

  • $61,300 - $81,700/year
  • Gainshare annual cash incentive payment up to 24% of your eligible earnings based on company performance 
  • An additional 10% when you work evening or weekend hours
