The Services / Customer Success team works closely together to set PowerSchool customers up for ongoing success through post-implementation support, troubleshooting, consultation on system setup options, and training on features and functionality. The team offers cross-portfolio support, all while meeting organizational objectives for revenue, utilization, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Job Description
The Director, Regional Education Partnerships is a strategic leadership position within the Services and Customer Success organization focused on building and leveraging relationships with Regional Education Service Organizations (RESOs) across the United States, including BOCES, Intermediate Units (IUs), Educational Service Centers (ESCs), Area Education Agencies (AEAs), ISDs/RESAs, ESUs, ESDs, technology cooperatives, and other regional educational support organizations.
The Director will develop and execute a national strategy that enables these organizations to serve as trusted extensions of PowerSchool's customer success ecosystem. The primary objective of the role is to improve customer outcomes, adoption, satisfaction, and retention by expanding regional support capacity, strengthening local expertise, and fostering collaborative partnerships that create measurable value for districts and schools.
Working cross-functionally with Customer Success, Professional Services, Support, Product, Education, and Sales, the Director will establish scalable partnership models that improve the customer experience while creating opportunities for sustainable growth and deeper engagement across the K-12 market.
Mission Statement
Build and scale a national ecosystem of Regional Education Service Organization partnerships that extends PowerSchool's ability to deliver exceptional customer outcomes, strengthens district success, improves retention, and creates long-term strategic value for the schools and communities we serve.
Key Responsibilities
Partnership Strategy & Program Leadership
  • Develop and execute a national RESO partnership strategy aligned to PowerSchool's customer success, retention, and growth objectives.
  • Identify, prioritize, and engage strategic regional partners across the United States.
  • Establish a framework for classifying and managing partnerships based on strategic value, influence, customer reach, and engagement.
  • Define partnership standards, operating models, governance processes, and success metrics.
  • Serve as the executive sponsor for key regional partner relationships.
Customer Success & Retention
  • Leverage RESO partnerships to improve customer adoption, engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
  • Work with Customer Success and Support leaders to identify opportunities where regional partners can expand customer success capacity and reduce customer friction.
  • Develop programs that enable partners to provide localized training, enablement, onboarding assistance, and customer advocacy.
  • Establish mechanisms for collecting and acting upon partner feedback regarding customer needs, product gaps, and service opportunities.
Partner Enablement
  • Develop certification, training, and enablement programs that empower partners to effectively support PowerSchool customers.
  • Collaborate with Professional Services, Education Services, Product Management, and Support teams to create scalable partner resources and knowledge-sharing models.
  • Define standards for partner readiness, certification, and ongoing development.
  • Promote best practices that improve consistency and quality across the partner ecosystem.
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Partner with Product, Support, Services, Customer Success, and Sales leaders to align partnership activities with broader company objectives.
  • Act as the internal voice of the RESO community.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between PowerSchool teams and strategic partners.
  • Drive organizational alignment around partner strategy and investment priorities.
Strategic Growth Enablement
  • Partner with Sales leadership to identify opportunities for district expansion, consortium opportunities, and new customer acquisition.
  • Develop co-selling, referral, and channel engagement motions where appropriate.
  • Ensure growth opportunities emerge as a natural outcome of stronger customer relationships and partner engagement.
  • Support go-to-market strategies involving state, regional, and consortium-led opportunities.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in K-12 education, education technology, customer success, professional services, partnership management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success building and managing strategic partnerships.
  • Deep understanding of the U.S. K-12 education landscape.
  • Experience working with educational service agencies, regional support organizations, state departments of education, school districts, or comparable organizations.
  • Strong executive presence and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence without direct authority.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Travel occasionally, up to 15-20%, for key moments such as team summits, training, partner meetings, customer meetings, company events, etc., with increased frequency during peak periods based on business demands.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with BOCES, Intermediate Units, ESCs, AEAs, RESAs, ISDs, COEs, educational cooperatives, or similar organizations.
  • Experience in SaaS customer success, implementation services, support, or channel partnerships.
  • Familiarity with student information systems, ERP, special programs, HR, talent, analytics, or other K-12 software solutions.
  • Experience designing partner certification or enablement programs.

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $121,900 - $181,900 USD. This compensation range is specific to the United States and it incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certifications; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
