Location Description
The Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania facility proudly produces iconic pet food brands like 9Lives®, Gravy Train®, and Kibbles 'n Bits®. This location also features an on-site Distribution Center, ensuring efficient delivery of products to customers.
Bloomsburg is home to Bloomsburg University, a municipal airport, and a landmark Town Park offering acres of recreational activities. The town also hosts one of the largest and longest-running fairs in the country. With so much to do and see, Bloomsburg is a great place to live, work, and play!
Responsibilities

This role is a chance to build technical mastery, lead meaningful improvement work, and contribute to a culture that values safety, growth, and hands-on ownership.
About the Role
As a Process Engineer, you'll help strengthen plant performance by learning the operation end to end, identifying improvement opportunities, and leading work that increases throughput, reduces scrap, improves quality, and eliminates losses on the production lines. You'll partner closely with operations, maintenance, and plant leadership while helping drive a strong problem-solving culture on site. This role reports to the Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities
  • Learn key safety items related to plant operations and develop technical mastery of the core production processes.
  • Build strong knowledge of process inputs, outputs, transformations, equipment components, and quality parameters/specifications.
  • Initiate and lead process and equipment improvements that increase throughput, reduce scrap, improve quality, and eliminate loss on the production lines.
  • Partner with Area Leaders, Team Leaders, and Maintenance to understand key losses and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Drive excellence as a capital project team member and lead portions of the CQV process, including start-up leadership.
  • Own the plant Centerline System and help establish targets for key process variables that affect process performance and finished product quality.
  • Help train operating teams on procedures and methods as needed.
  • Serve as the plant's problem-solving leader by driving go-see-think-do initiatives and coaching team members on effective problem-solving tools and methodologies.

Qualifications
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
  • Food & Beverage or Medical manufacturing experience preferred, including internship and/or co-op experience
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals and teams
  • Exposure to programming and troubleshooting skills such as ladder logic/PLCs, Python, VBA, SQL, and basic electrical troubleshooting
  • Strong problem-solving capability, including root cause identification and systemic corrective action implementation
  • Experience with Design of Experiments and/or CQV planning and execution
  • Familiarity with Daily Management Systems and statistical lot quality analysis
  • Demonstrated initiative, follow-through, time management, prioritization, and communication skills
