Job description

Commercial Litigation · 3–5 Years · Delaware Bar Admission Required

For a mid-level litigator in Delaware, the market offers plenty of standard briefing roles, but few actual opportunities to step into the spotlight. This national firm is actively expanding its Wilmington presence, offering a sophisticated commercial platform where a talented associate can transition from a supporting role into a primary driver of high-stakes corporate disputes.

-

The Work

You will step directly into high-profile, complex commercial disputes, handling matters before Delaware's most prestigious business venues:

  • Chancery & CCLD Exposure: Manage substantive litigation within the Court of Chancery and the Complex Commercial Litigation Division (CCLD) of the Superior Court.
  • Core Litigation Ownership: Drive the engine of the case. This means spearheading sophisticated legal research, drafting high-level pleadings and dispositive briefs, and taking a meaningful role in case strategy and courtroom execution.
  • Complex Disputes: Work across a diverse docket of high-value corporate advancement, governance, contractual breach, and commercial friction points on behalf of a strong institutional client base.

Who This Is For

This role is tailored for a Delaware-admitted attorney with three to five years of commercial litigation experience under their belt. You likely already have the baseline familiarity with the Court of Chancery and CCLD but are looking to escape the shadow of a top-heavy practice. The ideal candidate wants a platform that offers elite-tier work alongside a transparent trajectory and genuine ownership over their files.

The Platform

The firm offers the nationwide reach and resource depth of a prominent national platform, paired with the nimble, entrepreneurial energy of a growing Wilmington office. It is an environment that rejects rigid bureaucracy in favor of collaboration, where distinct viewpoints are genuinely valued, and where mid-level associates are given the tools and client facing opportunities necessary to build a long-term career.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $205,000 to $225,000, commensurate with experience and class year.

The firm provides a comprehensive, competitive benefits package representative of a premier national practice:

  • Premium medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan with firm profit-sharing contributions
  • Generous paid time off and parental leave
  • Comprehensive life, short-term, and long-term disability insurance
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Robust budget for professional development, CLEs, and Delaware bar association involvements
